Mac's big day

The morning on the 13th we headed to the hospital. My parents stayed home with Camryn so we could focus solely on Mac and I didn't have to think about how she'd react to other people. Shes a finicky little nugget when it comes to people.

Mac was thinking we were going to the dentist. She was excited that she could wear her pjs to the dentist! When we pulled in she commented on how this wasn't the dentist. But she was in good spirits.

We got all checked in and they toon us back.

She was watching TV. They gave her cooler pjs and socks, and a super cool bracket for her leg.

I signed so much paperwork while Patrick and Mac watched shows and looked for leprechauns per Maama's request. Meanwhile they brought her a bed with her name on it!

Not long after that they gave her some medicine to relax her. It was 'silly princess juice'. Took come encouraging but she took it. She was hungry and thirsty. She kept asking for pretzels.

About 20 minutes later she got hilarious.

She was saying the funniest things. Grabbing things out of the air, seeing leprechauns, trying to touch the TV. Oh. My. Word. It was funny! When the nurse came to get her, she was more than ready to go find leprechauns. The nurse was great and played along.

Off she went after hugs and kisses.

They came to get us a little over an hour later.

My poor baby was so upset. She cried and cried. I felt so helpless. They told me it was normal after anesthesia but it killed me. She didn't want either of us to hold her. She just wanted the bandaid off her hand where the iv had been. Patrick finally just held her. I got her pjs changed and he was able to take the bandaid off. She had to ride in a wheelchair out to our car but she wouldn't let Patrick put her down. So out they went together.

She cried all the way home. She said she tried to stop crying but just couldn't. Broke my heart. Patrick tried so many things to clam her. Nothing helped. She said her teeth hurt. We aren't sure if it was her teeth or her throat and mouth just being sore.

When we got home she latched on to my dad and calmed down enough to ask for oatmeal. She ate three servings. Then she played all afternoon. So much for her being tired and sleeping the rest of the day!

Besides being upset that she couldn't eat what she wanted and her little crying spell on the way home she did fantastic.

Now she has 4 silver teeth and quite a few fillings. Some foods are now not allowed in our house but it's nothing compared to what we just did to her. I'd rather say no more jelly beans then have to do that ever again!!!
