1. It's ok to sit at the table for an hour during meals rather than rush through and pick up. Conversations are so fun and the time spent with just us is slipping away quickly.
2. It's ok to do things different. Sometimes it's much easier to do it her way than mine and fight with her. It gets done either way.
3. Something's are just too important to stop doing to go potty. Such as picking up every Cheerio you dropped at breakfast while dancing uncontrollably.
4. All ya need is a song and a dance sometimes.
5. Crayons can make any day better. As well as pictures of days past.
6. Oh just jump on the bed. Someday you'll be too big and too old to be so silly.
7. Changing the subject in the middle of discipline really can change the mood and make things all better.
8. Putting yourself in time out isn't such a bad idea...
9. Singing the alphabet at 10 pm all by yourself while answering 'next time won't you sing with me' yourself doesn't mean you're crazy, it just means you're not ready for bed and needed someone, anyone to talk to.
10. Carrying on conversations with anything and everything isn't bad. You just came from a long line of talkers and sometimes mama needs a laugh.
11. Praying ten times during a meal is the best way to show Jesus
12. Emptying out your closet to find the perfect outfit can happen at anytime. Day or night. Hey, when the inspiration hits ya gotta do it!
13. Having to stop a job is a blessing. Every hold you mama, play mama, cry, hug and kiss won't last forever.
14. A bandaid isn't really for protecting an ouch it's for love from mama and is carried around in your hand after its out on and pulled off too many times to stick. And ouchies hang around for a long time for the love.
15. Second and third breakfast can't be forgotten about. Cold oatmeal is good any time so don't take it. Once again, smelling every flower along the way is very important, even if it takes a third time to finish eating, or walking down the hall.
16. Cultivating a helper is more important that getting the job done right the first time. Even if it takes three times as long. Her heart for helping takes precedent over my need to finish fast.
Stopping to take my time during the day just to be with her is more important than anything else in my life. I am extremely blessed beyond measure to be able to stay home with my children. This is what I was meant to do. This first baby has taught me so much about life in her two short years and I love her more than my heart can hold.
